Early Victorian ballgown in off-white colour. May be used as 1840s wedding dress or a very special gown for period dances or photosessions.
The outfit consists of bodice and skirt which may also be worn separately. The bodice is boned and has a corsetted effect. It closes on back lacing. Decorated with bertha – fashionable detail with pleating made of the same fabric. Dress with bertha were popular during Victorian period. Short sleeves are decorated with same fabric volants. The skirt is rather full and has a slight train.
The gown is made to fit period appropriate undergarnments, though will look very good without them as well. You may find the corset here, and the petticoats here.
