1900 Aesthetic Dress, Late Victorian Plisse Teagown, Pre-Raphaelite Dark Blue Gown

The late 1890s – early 1900s movement of the aesthetic dress fashion is one of the most curious and extravagant periods in late Victorian fashion history. Plisse fabrics, flowy silhouettes and exaggerated forms.

This dress is made of soft dark blue plisse satin, stretchy adjustable. The taffeta parts are stabilized with rough cotton lining. The fashionable mutton leg sleeves are padded with several layers of tulle. The corseted girdle is optional, but it gives the period shape and helps to accent the waist. The corset closes on back lacing and is well boned.
